So was it worth it?

I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed my first-ever cruise.  One week seemed long enough - by the end I was ready to go see our doggies.  It isn't a cheap vacation, although if you go at the end of a season like we did, you can get some killer discounts.

Tips, alcoholic drinks, internet expenses, and all other on-ship charges are simply added to your tab during the cruise.  Those do add up.  Then there are the travel expenses to get to and from wherever the cruise's home port is.

I think it's much more enjoyable if you go with one or more people you know.  We talked with a number of other people on the ship, but didn't really build any cruise-long relationships.  There were five people in our group, and that meant five minds finding different things to do and see.

So in conclusion, it really was worth it.  So start saving up your $$$, and come along with us the next time.  The more the merrier.

  2. was it you who showed me a pic of Aruba? with Arizona-esque desert landscaping?

i liked the cruise more than i thought i would. the group wants to do the Mediterranean next, but i'd rather do the Baltic Sea. expensive as heck though. methinks most likely will be a cheapo 3-day Baja cruise next.
